Hey guys - please can you let us know which 3rd party FX/VI's are working and which are not.

We will be turning our attention to debugging the list in a couple of weeks so it will help us greatly if you can let us know the problem areas.

Please list the OS version, plugin vendor and name.

    Many thanks.

I hope this is the right place to put this? Just installed T4 today and it wouldn't load the Mackie compressors (the ones that came with T3) - i.e. FinalMix.dll, Mono Comp.dll and 4 others.

They are listed in red in the plug in list, with the message 'Deactived after ...'

OS: Windows XP, Plugin vendor: Mackie I think, Names: as above

Well my only major issues are of course my 64 bit VSTs (which will be solved shortly w/ your 64 bit version), however here is one that is not working:
      1) My operating system is Windows 7, using the T4 Demo

      2) VST - "Best Service" Engine 2 Era Medieval Legends

Issue: T4 scans it, and it is listed in the "filter" options, when you pull it down to a midi track the VST's option window opens, and you can pick an instrument, but nothing will play with the midi signal, and while the piano roll works for the VST in the VST option window, the T4 piano roll will also not play the notes for this VST and any respective instrument picked for it.

Not sure if I described that well,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

LOVE how quick Tracktion loads compared to T3 - but a few things:

1: Waveshell loading doesnt work - I know there is a shell tool - but I like the way T3 loaded it
2: The plugin tree won't do a folder in a folder - its seperates the plugins individually especially, with FabFilter stuff
3: It wont load some Vsts that worked in T3 fine - ex. Sonivox Hofner Beatle Bass or Nomad Factory Magma, which leads to #4
4: It deactivates vsts that didn't intialize - how do you reactivate them or remove them from the list - I tried the Reove Selected Plugin from List and it doesn't work.
5: A reverse audio clip function would be cool

Other than that EXTREMELY impressed - can't wait for 64bit and the only other thing would be that when working with midi that in the Midi Events window you could type in the number (like the velocity) in addition to the slider

        I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate / 64bit / 8-core 3.10GHz / 16GB ram /

          Go to
          ?:\Users\?\AppData\Roaming\Tracktion 4\tracktion.settings

          BACK IT UP!

Open in notepad or similar and you can prune the XML chunks to remove blacklisted items.
Rescanning will obviously put them back unless they magically pass.

I would also like to report that BFD ECO still gets blacklisted.
As a temp measure reinstalling and scanning with 4.0.1.0 will create the entry in your settings file.
It then runs perfectly in all builds.

          win 8 /64

Tracktion native chorus filter's rate is flaky.
              WinXP SP3 32 bit. T4050.

When first loaded, the rate seems fine, and in fact you can measure that it is correct by turning up the depth and using a stopwatch. 1hz= 1hz, 2hz= 2hz, etc.

If you leave the rate on something like 2Hz, and just run a signal through it, within 30-40 seconds or so you'll hear the rate change. It may be subtle, but when you try to adjust the rate now, it will not adjust properly. 2hz might sound nearly the same as 1hz. If you continue to decrease the rate, the modulation seems to stop entirely at a point between 0.3hz and 1.7hz. Raising the rate one step from the stopping point turns it back on, but still not calibrated properly. I confirmed this on a fresh edit with nothing but the chorus.

              Steps to recreate:
              1:Setup a signal source on a track.
              2:Load the chorus filter
3:Turn up Depth to around 10mS.
              4:Turn up speed to 8Hz.
5:Play the signal source and listen for the change. After 30-40 seconds the
rate will audibly speed up a bit.
6:Now adjust the speed back down. Modulation will stop at around 1.7hz and will restart at around 1.8hz.

Normally, this wouldn't bother me, as I have plenty of other great chorus effects, but in trying to make a demo using as many native Tracktion effects as possible, this has reared it's head.

Keep up the great work gentlemen!

                  1) Izotope's "Ozone 5" (not advanced version) is less of an FX and more of a channel strip but it causes Tracktion 4 to crash. Labeled: "Izotope Ozone 5" I verified the plug location was installed from my x86 programs plugins. I downloaded/tested the "Advanced Ozone 5" demo which has each individual Ozone plug rather than the strip and they dragged in fine with no crash.
                  2) I.K. Multimedia's "T-Racks CS" has the same result. Individual plug instances from it work fine ex) dragging the White 2a or Black 76 in on its own. However Tracktion 4 Crashes when loading in the "channel strip" Labeled: "T-RackS CS". My version is the recent CS Grand upgraded from deluxe.
Note: These plugs work fine with Tracktion 3 operations. T4 crashes...then hangs in the background of windows 7...Tracktion 4 is rebooted eventually and my "device" under "audio device type: ASIO" is listed as "none" i select my Roland "Quad-Capture" and the grammatically incorrect error "CAN NOT FOUND A DEVICE" appears. The device is still listed and recognized however under "direct sound" and "windows audio" options of audio device type it just doesn't under the ASIO option...

What's interesting is that for me T-RackS CS kind of works if I open a project that already uses it (one that I've set up with Tracktion 3). However, if I try to add a new instance of T-RackS CS then T4 crashes.

Keep in mind that "Tracktion 4" is no longer affiliated with "Mackie" so, naturally you are not going to see Mackie's plugs being usable content. If you desire to use "FinalMix" why not import your final wave(s) to T3 for that purpose for the time being? I also believe that the New Tracktion 4 crew has alluded to presenting plugs (similar?) in the future...

IK Multimedia Sampletank doesn't show up at all when I scan for plugins, even in the "deactivated" area.
Celemony Melodyne Editor shows up but under "deactivated."
Any ideas what's wrong or how to remedy?
